One thing I love about being an artist is being able to use different mediums. Hung these fresh cut oakleaf hydrangeas in one of our goat pens to dry. The colors are muted pinks and beige. Hoping to use these not just for flower arrangements, but for swags as well. If they don’t dry well the backup plan is to incorporate the flower petals into hand made paper.

The studio is undergoing a few renovations…..and my artistic outlet has been limited to my camera phone. Life’s unexpected changes can sometimes be wonderful and force one’s eye to seek out beauty in overlooked places. These flowers were grown by my mom on her little farm outside Royston. Going to have to paint these when the studio is up and running again.
